Each year herdsmen in the Alps lead their cattle from high pastures back down to lower grazing areas. While the journey is a traditional one, new technology has helped out in some instances. Last week, this injured cow was airlifted from the Klausen Pass, Switzerland, to new pastures by a helicopter. Farmer Ambros Arnold told local media that transporting injured cows this way helped recent injuries heal and were a great “short cut”.
