New cases of African swine fever emerged in South Korea, China and the Philippines

The fourth case of African swine fever (ASF) has been discovered in South Korea at a pig farm in a town 40 km north of Seoul. The first case was announced one week ago.

ASF was further discovered in the Philippines, the Philippines’ Department of Agriculture said, the disease was spotted in Antipolo, Rizal, east of the Philippine capital Manila, and some areas in Central Luzon.

China also proclaimed another outbreak of ASF at a farm in the southwestern region of Guangxi on Monday. The farm, located in the district of Cen Xi city, had 120 pigs and two had already died of the disease, China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reported.
