“Noureddine Boutar has not interfered in the work of journalists for 20 years” Amina Ben Doua

“Since his day one in prison, CEO of radio station Mosaïque FM Noureddine Boutar has insisted on not changing the radio’s editorial line,” journalist Amina Ben Doua told a press conference held by the Support Committee to Journalist Noureddine Boutar on Tuedday at the seat of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT).

Ben Doua added that the most important elements that must be available in a media institution are freedom and respect for rights, in addition to its director’s concern to respect the freedom of journalists.

The journalist also highlighted that the material published by Mosaïque FM is produced by journalists and media professionals, stressing that Boutar has not interfered in the work of journalists for 20 years.

The committee is composed of journalist Zied El Heni, Chairman of the Tunisian Federation of Newspaper Managers Taïeb Zahar and representative of  “Reporters Without Borders” (RSF) Samir Bouaziz.

SNJT President Mehdi Jelassi reiterated “that there is no proof against Boutar and his detention is baseless”.

The conference was attended by media organizations, national personalities and intellectuals, correspondent of Tunisie Numérique reported.
