Powerful earthquake hits Afghanistan

Western Afghanistan was struck again, this Wednesday, October 11, 2023, by a violent earthquake, four days after an earthquake which left at least 2,400 dead and more than 2,000 wounded, according to Reuters.

The new earthquake, of magnitude 6.3 according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), was registered in the province of Herat, at a depth of 10 km. The death toll has not yet been released, but local officials spoke of hundreds of homes being destroyed.
