As part of its price observatory, Tunisie Numérique crew carries out weekly monitoring of the costs of consumer products for Tunisian households.
Prices are taken directly from the public media of a major distribution brand and exclude promotions.
The prices involve national brand products.
The evolution of prices makes it likely to characterize the effective inflation for each product.
Today, the focus is on 1.5-litre bleach, a common cleaning product. We are seeing a considerable increase in the price of bleach:
- 11/21/2023: 2,790 TND
05/01/2024: 3,700 TND
This increase represents inflation of 33%, or 0.910 TND more in less than two months.
It should be recalled that, according to the INS, the average inflation rate for the year 2023 stands at 9.3%.
