Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani held a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York, in which the two emphasized the crucial role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Al-Thani highlighted the organization’s importance in assisting millions across Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, and expressed concern over potential catastrophic consequences if the agency faced defunding.
