A tsunami warning has been issued in Russia’s eastern cities of Vladivostok and Nakhodka following the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Japan earlier on Monday.
In addition, Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the western coast of Sakhalin was at risk of being hit by a tsunami following the strong earthquake in Japan. The ministry urged everyone in the coastal area of the Strait of Tartary to evacuate.
