Tokyo governor says mutant strains of COVID-19 becoming dominant

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike announced on Thursday that the number of new COVID-19 cases among younger people are increasing and called on citizens to further decrease their movements.

Tokyo plans to request the central government on Thursday to prolong the current state of emergency, local media reported.
