Tsunami ‘possible’ after 7.2-quake in Philippines

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 struck the Philippines, the United States Geological Survey said on Wednesday.

The epicenter of the quake was registered 141 kilometers east of Davao City at a depth of 50 kilometers.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center pointed out that “hazardous tsunami waves are possible for coasts within 300 kilometers of the epicenter along the coasts of Philippines and Indonesia.”
