The head of mission of the International Organization for Migration Azouz Samri underscored this Monday that the number of people who joined Italy from Tunisia and Libya underwent a 33% increase in 2021 compared to 2020, adding that the Italian authorities had identified in 2021, the arrival of about 10 thousand children illegally including 2700 Tunisian children.
Samri told TAP, that among the 8 thousand Tunisian irregular migrants 1800 are children, noting that 400 migrants have benefited from social and judicial protection measures.
He said that social disturbances in many countries south of the Mediterranean and the civil war in Libya as well as economic and social crises are at the root of non -regulatory migration.
