Tunisia-50 thousand adolescents aged 11 to 14 are not enrolled in school

According to a new report issued by ITCEQ, Tunisia’s human development indicator in 2021 shows a value of 0.73, which places it in the “high human development” category. In the North African region, Tunisia is ranked second, ahead of Algeria which ranks first with a score of 0.75.

According to the same report, dropping out starts at a very young age, therefore, 50 thousand adolescents aged 11 to 14 are not enrolled in school and 55 thousand are in school but are at risk of dropping out.

Worse still, more than 10% of young people between 15 and 19 years old are out of school, without apprenticeship and employment, i.e. belong to the “NEET” (Not in Education, Employment or Training) category, i.e. about 93,000 individuals.
