The Italian Ministry of the Interior announced that 15,406 illegal immigrants arrived in its lands via sea, from January 1 to August 14, and Tunisians formed the largest proportion of them.
According to statistics provided by the Italian Ministry of Interior, the number of Tunisians who arrived there reached 6,465, which represents 42 percent of the total number, followed by Bengal with 2338, and Algerians in fourth place, where 747 immigrants were counted, representing 5 percent.
