Tunisia-A customs patrol attacked: two customs officers injured

The head of the Bouchebka customs brigade and an agent were wounded when their patrol was assaulted Monday evening by smugglers, the customs administration announced in a declaration on Tuesday.
The patrol was seeking a procession of contraband vehicles heading from Friana, Kasserine to Sidi Bouzid, but when it succeeded to hold one of the trucks, a second smuggling vehicle crashed into the administrative car in a planned fashion. , thus wounding the head of the brigade and one of the agents, the customs said.
The smugglers further hurled stones at customs officials and again struck the head of the brigade in an endeavour to retrieve the seized truck and scare its driver away.
With the arrival of reinforcements, the two injured were removed to hospitals and the truck containing counterfeit items and license plates was taken to the brigade’s headquarters.
Inquiry was opened by the public prosecutor and a report was drawn up, according to customs.
