Tunisia – African Court of Human Rights questions State about Ghannouchi and others

The African Court of Human Rights has called urgent provisional measures in favour of four prisoners whom it describes as political, in Tunisia, and who are, Rached Ghannouchi, Noureddine Bhiri and Saïed Ferjani of Ennahdha, as well as Ghazi Chaouachi former leader of the democratic current.

The court requests the Tunisian State to facilitate the access of these detainees and members of their families to defence attorneys and asks them to clarify the legal grievances of which they are accused and for which they are in detention.

The court gave the Tunisian state a fifteen-day ultimatum to comply with these decisions.
