Seifeddine Makhlouf, president of the Al Karama parliamentary bloc, said in reaction to the announcement that he was surprised by the decision of the head of government-designate Hichem Mechichi.
He said on Shems FM that his party will not trust a technocratic government, calling Mechichi’s decision a “coup against the will of the people.”
According to him, this decision to form a government based on independent competences was imposed on Hichem Mechichi by the President of the Republic Kaïs Saied.
Although surprised by the decision, Makhlouf said his party will participate in the consultations scheduled today with Hichem Mechich.
