Tunisia-Algeria has provided Tunisia 12% of its electricity needs

The National Energy Observatory revealed that total electricity production registered a decrease of 3%, in 2022, to be located at 19516 GWh, excluding self-production.

In its monthly report, the observatory said that production for the local market, nevertheless, increased by 5%, following the increase in imports. Algerian electricity acquisitions have covered more than 12% of local market needs.

The STEG still maintains the lion’s share in electricity production with a share of 96% of national production in 2022. Electricity produced from natural gas (STEG + PPI) has recorded a decrease of 2%.
