President of the Association of Tunisian Magistrates, Anas Hamadi, declared at a press conference that an understanding was reached this Friday, December 18, with the government. The magistrates’ strike which had begun on November 16 was consequently suspended.
Hamadi added that the basis of this strike is the situation of justice in Tunisia which according to him, it is declining. Emphasizing that their demands are not only economic but the magistrates call to save the judicial institution, to grant health coverage to judges and to impose a health protocol in the courts.
