Tunisia – Arrival of batches of edible sugar from Algeria

Several Algerian trucks have crossed the borders to deliver the initial shipment of sugar as part of a Tunisian-Algerian trade agreement. This agreement outlines the provision of 12,000 tonnes of sugar to Tunisia at a rate of 1,200 tonnes per day. Following this, a second batch of 9,000 tonnes is expected to be delivered in the upcoming week. Sources also indicate the signing of another agreement with Algeria, ensuring the supply of Algerian sugar to Tunisia throughout the year 2024.
