Tunisia – Dismantling of terrorist cell reporting to ISIS

The Ministry of the Interior, in a press release issued on the evening of Friday, December 1, 2023, reported that the National Unit for the Investigation of Terrorism Crimes and Organized Offenses impacting the integrity of the national territory, under the General Administration of National Security, has successfully located and dismantled a cell comprising six individuals affiliated with DAECH. All members of the cell were apprehended following the receipt of confirmed information and subsequent technical examinations and monitoring.

Upon investigation, the suspects confessed to engaging in activities through virtual platforms on behalf of the aforementioned terrorist organization. They also admitted to planning a specific act aimed at a company in the Cap Bon region to steal money to finance their illicit activities.
