Minister of Women, Family, Child and Elderly Affairs and Government spokesperson Asma Shiri said suspicion of conflict of interest doesn’t imply corruption.
In a statement to Shems FM, she pointed out that there is a mix-up between a conflict of interest and corruption, so much that everything has become classified as corruption.
Speaking on the possibility of prime minister Elyes Fakhfakh resignation, she affirmed that the subject is certainly not on the table for Fakhfakh and his cabinet given the government success in combating COVID-19.
PM Fakhfakh cabinet success is a win on the global scale and Tunisia as a whole, she added. She further acknowledged that there is union within the government and a determination commanded by the prime minister, in addition to the mutual trust between all its members.
There is government solidarity in the face of the campaign by some parties against the prime minister, which is a campaign directed against the government as a whole, said Shiri. The government has no intention to resign nor lose the solidarity between its members, she added.
