Lawyer and political activist Imed Ben Halima stated that he is one of the heads of the departure sit-in, in its third version, which will begin on Monday, June 1.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, Mr Halima ensured that, according to the reactions of Tunisians on social networks, the attendance at this sit-in will be significant and will bring together all Tunisians. Only the Muslim brothers and their armed wing will be absent, alluding to the Al Karama coalition.
Ben Halima added that a political party had supplied directions to strike the sit-in to have it aborted. He added that the choice of June 1 as the date for the commencement of the sit-in was desired in memory of the Victory Day and the first Constitution of modern Tunisia and which will be the date of the fall of the constitution of the Muslim brotherhood of 2013.
Regarding the demands of this sit-in, Ben Halima announced that they are demanding the resignation of Ghannouchi as house speaker under pressure since there is no mechanism for withdrawing confidence in his regard, the establishment of a constitutional court, the modification of the electoral law and the organization of a referendum to change the political system.
