The secretary general of the basic education federation, Nabil Haouachi, told Mosaique FM that the union will continue to call the teachers to strike as long as their claims will not be satisfied.
He emphasised that teachers are nevertheless requesting the application of the law and status granted to them by law according to a text in force since 2019.
“We have not requested for anything excessive or impossible, we call for the application of the law and to give rights to teachers who were to be recruited, as interim teachers, in September 2022 under Decree 58 of 2019, but the ministry desires to recruit them as contract workers, which is not normal! It is the presidency of the government that does not respect the law, “added Nabil Haouachi.
He said the union will continue to call on a strike and that it is out of the question that teachers will resume work if the ministry’s proposals do not reply to their complaints a minimum.
