Remittances from Tunisians abroad continue to grow, despite some relative decrease compared to the period between 2019 and 2022, financial and economic analyst Bassam Niefer told Tunisie Numérique.
Naifer revealed that the reasons for this are the drop in the value of the dinar compared to the euro, particularly since 85 percent of the Tunisian community is in Europe, in addition to the improvement in the amounts transferred to Tunisia in hard currency due to the quality of the workforce available abroad, including physicians, Engineers and others.
Our speaker likewise noted that this phenomenon would contribute to enhancing the trade balance of Tunisia, in addition to tourism revenues, underscoring the significance of developing these transfers in light of Tunisia facing difficulties in providing foreign funds to finance the budget.
