Tunisia-Béja: Drinking water cut off due to acts of looting of copper cables

The National Water Exploitation and Distribution Company (SONEDE) reported a cut and disruption in the distribution of drinking water registered, on Wednesday, October 11, in Bouarada, El Aroussa and Tarifa in the governorate of Béja.

The company clarified that this outage was due to acts of looting and vandalism which targeted the copper cables of the electrical exchanger of the Tarifa water pumping station in the Goubellat delegation.

The same source ensures that it will prosecute all those whose involvement in these acts is confirmed, adding that the water supply will slowly resume, after the repair of the destroyed equipment and the return to service of the water supply.
