The union of employees of the Merchant Marine and Ports office of Bizerte issued a press release in which it threatened to engage in forms of struggle from March 19, beginning with the wearing of the red armband, to protest against the inquiries which targeted the workers of the Office of the Merchant Marine and Ports of Bizerte, following the accident of the ship which collided with the mobile bridge of Bizerte, and to demand the granting of conditions professional safety and improvement of working conditions.
Assembled yesterday Saturday at the union’s headquarters, its main members condemned what they consider to be an abandonment on the part of the administration of its responsibility to protect its workers.
It should be remarked that on March 4, the commercial port of Bizerte experienced the collision of a ship with the movable bridge, causing its lifting operations to stop.
