Out of 1494 COVID-19 tests carried out, including 31 in the framework of the follow-up of active cases, 142 came out positive, the Health Ministry said in a statement on Saturday. They include 120 new cases of which 116 are local infections,4 are a new imported case and 22 previously confirmed cases who were still infected with this virus”.The evaluation also revealed a new death, bringing the death tally to 54.
The overall confirmed cases have consequently reached 2023 from a total of 111517 tests carried out since the outbreak of the pandemic last March.
The overall assessment reveals 1327 recoveries, 54 deaths and 642 active cases, including 24 hospitalised.
The Health Ministry stated that all active cases have been kept in specialised quarantine centres.
