A further 3137 people tested positive for coronavirus after 8886 tests were performed on October 8 and 9, the Health Ministry said on Saturday. This takes total infection numbers to 31,259.
47 more COVID-19 fatalities were reported, bringing the death toll to 456 the Ministry further said.
634 patients are currently hospitalised, including 132 in intensive care and 63 on life support.
