Tunisia-Breaking news:Beja under a general lockdown

At the conclusion of the meeting of the Regional Committee for Disaster Control held on Monday, June 28, 2021, and after deliberation with the Presidency of the Government, the following preventive measures were exerted:

  • The imposition of a one-week general lockdown throughout the governorate of Beja subject to renewal, from Monday, June 28, 2021 at midnight, until Sunday, July 04, 2021, at midnight, with the exception of educational establishments, departments and structures under the supervision of the ministry.
  • Ban on travel to and from the governorate of Beja, with the exception of travel for students, the educational framework, authorized cases, emergencies and basic services, including the vaccination campaign. Travel ban in each delegation, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
  • Shut down of all stores and commercial spaces open to the public as well as all commercial roads and streets, with the exception of food stores in neighbourhoods
  • Citizens are urged not to leave their homes except to meet their basic needs.
  • Ban on all private and public gatherings and parties.
  • Halt of all events, whether scientific, sporting, cultural, etc., and the taking of strict deterrence measures against offenders.

 

The committee indicated that the sectors responsible for the continuation of vital services, holders of authorizations are excluded from this measure.
