There have been 1571 new cases of the coronavirus on April 18, data from the health ministry showed on Monday. The total number of infections stood at 287,061.
Meanwhile, fatalities increased by 42 in the same period. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic was reported at 9825.
According to the Ministry of Health, public and private hospitals are currently treating 2426 people with the coronavirus, 482 people in intensive care units and 149 patients on oxygen.
