Travelling Books – Quebec in Tunisia” ceremony took place at the National Library of Tunisia in the attendance of its Director, Khaled Kchir, and a delegation of 6 Quebec poets partaking in the Sidi Bousaid International Poetry Festival, namely Ms. Nora Attalla, Francis Catalano, Larry Tremblay, Ms Catherine Cormier-Larose, Ms. Valérie Forgues and Ms. Elkahena Talbi, and the Festival Director, Moez Majed.
According to the Canadian Embassy in Tunisia, the Traveling Books initiative initiated by poet Nora Atalla made it possible to donate 185 works by more than 600 French-speaking Canadian poets to the Tunisian National Library.
These books are now available to Tunisian readers. They emphasise Canadian cultural identity and the specificity of its Quebec and French-speaking literature.
