Caretaker Prime Minister Youssef Chahed cordially welcomed National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) President Neji Bghouri .
The official meeting focused on the exceptional circumstances of media establishments, particularly seized establishments which are passing through economic crises and are encountering a created vacuum at the level of their administration, which could endanger their sustainability.
Bghouri further pointed out that the Union had prominently displayed its legitimate concern about the inequality in the media scene, especially as numerous media outlets are critically endangered with closing, including print media and regional and community radio stations. The considered latter has been unable to steadfastly adhere to their financial pledge to the national broadcasting office.
Moreover, he promptly informed Chahed about affirmative actions that had been taken for the distinct advantage of the sector and which had remained unimplemented.
