The Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (CONECT)declared, in a press release on August 26, 2020, its support in principle for prime minister-designate Hichem Mechichi technocratic government. It recalled that it was among the first to call for the formation of a government of technocrats.
CONECT stressed, in this regard, the importance of quickly presenting the economic and social strategy that the government intends to adopt to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the national economy.
The confederation also called on political parties, parliamentary blocs and national organizations to prioritize the best interests of the country and to design a new social contract that values the culture of work and creates a climate favourable to investment.
