Remarking the urgent complaint lodged by the Trade Union Council of Imams and Mosque Executives against the shut down of mosques, the mufti of the Republic, Othman Batikh, told Assabah newspaper that is a  futile and meaningless decision.

Batikh recalled that praying in mosques is not obligatory, particularly in such a health context, adding that the suspension of prayers in mosques was essentially intended to protect the health of the worshipers. and slow the spread of the coronavirus.

This is a well-considered decision, which is not random, he added.
