Riadh Daghfous, member of the scientific committee for the fight against the coronavirus, stated that the recorded indicators reveal that Tunisia has entered a new wave of the spread of the virus.
The data, he adds, likewise confirms the entry of the omicron mutant into the country after genetic sequencing demonstrated that more than 30% of cases carry the mutant.
In this sense, he called on citizens to be more vigilant, to respect preventive measures during the winter months, and to obtain the third dose of vaccination.
