COVID-19 updates in Tunisia:

Health authorities recorded 1709  new cases and 34 deaths, bringing the death and infection tally to 8965 and 260,044 respectively.

In the same context, the COVID commission warned that the epidemic situation is dangerous, it noted significant degeneration in the different indicators at the national level during the 13th week of 2021 with a high positivity rate of 22.9% in term of tests. In addition 17 governorates and 95 delegations listed as dangerous to an extremely dangerous level.

Many hospitals likewise have been reporting a saturation in their ICU departments.

Head of the emergency department at Abderrahmen Mami hospital in Ariana, Rafik Boujdaria, declared on Saturday that the hospital’s ICU unit had reached saturation point, with the 16 patients admitted in the unit. The same goes for Ibn Jazzar hospital, the hospital director confirmed to Mosaique FM that usage of ICU beds reached a capacity of 100%

President Kais Saied and Constitutional court:

President Kaîs Saied sent a correspondence, to House speaker Rached Ghannouchi, in which, he informs him of its referral of the law on the Constitutional Court, dated December 3, 2015.

Arab League chief to visit Tunisia

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit will be making a two-day visit to Tunisia on April 4 and 5. He will be meeting President Kais Saied and Foreign minister Othman Jerandi.

 

Tunisia expresses Support for Jordan

Tunisia expressed its full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’, asserting its full support for the decisions and measures adopted by its leadership.

Milk prices increase by 100 millimes

The Ministry of Commerce agreed to increase the price of milk by 100 millimes for the benefit of the producer.

Calls to Boycott Green Peppers

 

Head of the consumer organization launched an appeal to citizens in order to boycott green peppers, which prices have skyrocketed to five dinars per kilo.

National dialogue:

In an interview with Achourouk newspaper, Democratic bloc MP Zouhair Maghzaoui affirmed that the national dialogue could begin next week if things go as planned.
