COVID-19 updates in Tunisia:

Health authorities reported  89 new deaths, the tally now stands at 13656. Also,1997 new cases were recorded, taking the infection toll to 372221 .

Kais Saied summons Hichem Mechichi and all former heads of government

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed this Tuesday, June 15, 2021, prime minister Hichem Mechichi and the former heads of government, specifically, Ali Laarayedh, Eleyès Fakhfakh and Youssef Chahed.

During the meeting, the head of the state said that “The true patriots do not organize meetings abroad, in order to get away to remove the President of the Republic even by assassinating him”,  specifying that he is aware of what he said.

Abir Moussi: You are all at the service of the Muslim Brotherhood

In a plenary session held today, PDL leader Abir Moussi condemned the “facade opposition” which accepts “the falsification of the decisions of the parliament office”.

She stated that the Mechichi government, as well as the parliament, have lost all legitimacy, adding that the MPs who approved the convention with the Qataris did not even bother to read the terms of the agreement.

Mustapha Ben Ahmed and Jamila Ksiksi hospitalized

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Samira Chaouachi declared today during the plenary session held at the parliament that MPs  Mustapha Ben Ahmed and MP Ennahdha Jamila Ksiksi have been hospitalized following the deterioration of their health condition.

Rached Ghannouchi: Ennahdha demands that no party be excluded from national dialogue

Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouchi today welcomed the resumption of the UGTT initiative correlating to the national dialogue, following the recent meeting between the President of the Republic Kais Saied and the general secretary of the UGTT  Noureddine Tabboubi.

Nonetheless, he emphasised that the Islamist movement will not accept any exclusion.

Nabil Karoui released from Prison

Qalb Tounes leader has been officially released from prison, MP Yadh Elloumi announced on his official Facebook page.

Final agreement on the regularization of the situation of construction workers

The UGTT declared this Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the signing of a conclusive deal relating to the publication of the decree regularizing the situation of construction workers, on June 18.

It was additionally agreed to begin the publication of the decrees of February 6, 2021, successively within a deadline not surpassing July 6, 2021.
