A medical source has confirmed the death of a 67-year-old woman from the town of Kasr Hellal with the coronavirus.
The same source said the deceased was admitted 10 days ago to Fattouma Bourguiba University Hospital in Monastir, and also suffers from chronic illnesses and shortness of breath.
In Menzel Ennour, the mayor, Sami Hajj Omar, said the number of local cases of infection with the novel coronavirus has risen to 156.
Hajj Omar confirmed that two patients were placed on artificial respiration at Fattouma Bourguiba University Hospital in Monastir, after their condition deteriorated, indicating that an infant and children aged 3 to 5 were infected with the virus.
