Tunisia-Dismissal of 57 magistrates: 3 judges begin hunger strike [Live ]

Speaking at a press conference held today, Judge Raoudha Karafi addressed the decision taken by the President of the Republic Kais Saïed relating to the dismissal of 57 judges.

Karafi indicated that the magistrates took escalating measures in protest against this decision, including the organization of a strike which continues for the 3rd straight week.

She revealed that the 3 judges: Hamadi Rahmani, Ramzi Bahria and Mohamed Taher Kanzari have decided to begin a hunger strike to defend the independence of the judiciary and call on the Head of State to reconsider his decision.
