Tunisia-Dr. Boujdaria calls on Imposing state of health emergency before disaster

Confronted with the trademarked deterioration of the epidemiological situation, doctors and heads of departments in public hospitals are proceeding to sound the alarm bells.

The head of emergency services at Abderahman Mami Hospital Dr Rafik Boujdaria called on the authorities to announce the state of a health emergency.

In a Facebook post, he explained that the “forecasts for the coming weeks are frightening” given the lack of ICU beds in Tunisia. “We must declare the state of health emergency before the disaster,” he called, revealing that this decision will help to better manage the situation and strengthen the capacity of hospitals.

If we continue to operate in the same way, the capacity of hospitals will be quickly exhausted, he added.
