Dr Fathi Batbout, University Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases at Fattouma Bourguiba University Hospital in Monastir, related that deaths are currently recorded in Tunisia every hour and that this number will grow within 10 days( two deaths every hour).
He emphasised that the purpose is to decrease the speed of the virus by breaking the circles of infection.
Speaking to Jawhara FM, He said that the health situation is dangerous and disastrous, revealing that each infected person is in critical condition and cannot obtain an ICU bed, his fate is inevitably death.
Dr Batbout added that without the interference of civil society to provide coronavirus protective gears for medical executives in the hospital’s intensive care unit, they would not have been able to progress with urgent surgery for a COVID-19 patient.
He explained that the official statements have nothing to do with reality, exposing a complete lack of accountability of state institutions.
