Tunisia-Ennahdha: ” A parliament of minority… Saïed must resign ”

Ennahdha called the president of the Republic, Kais Saïd, to resign to open the path for the people to organize an early presidential election, as an as a way out of fixing the crisis and as the last chance, before declaring bankruptcy and the fall, according to a statement of the party, made public this Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Ennahdha denounced the overruns that accompanied the electoral process, revealed by civil society organizations, such as the rejection to share the number of voters and the participation rates, in the offices and voting centres by the ISIE, According to the same press release.

The movement believed that “the parliament of Kais Saïed only expresses the will of a minority of the people and that it does not have the right to exert legislative power, in its name or in the name of the majority of voters. Everything that will be produced by this Parliament is zero and has no legitimacy. It is better that he declares its dissolution as a radical solution, to save the country from chaos and the “desire for the power of the coup d’etat to opt for the policy of flight forward”, we read in the same press release.
