Tunisia-Espionage in Mornaguia prison: INPDP denies Yassine Ayari

Suspended MP Yassine Ayari had accused El Mornaguia jail of spying over the presence of surveillance cameras in his cell. This Friday, August 27, 2021, the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data issued a press release to address these accusations.

The authority evokes that any installation of cameras is subject to the authorization regime it issues. Accordingly, it recalls that it allowed the said prison to install surveillance cameras even in cells without the possibility of registration.

In this press release, the Authority declares that it has carried out an inspection mission to review these provisions. “We have noticed the respect of all the measures of respect for personal data”.
