Speaking at today plenary session to examine the health ministry budget, the minister of health Faouzi Mehdi asserted that the death of young doctor Baddredine Aloui deeply shook him as a human being and manifested him with an ethical challenge as a doctor.
Mr Mehdi vowed before the deputies, some of whom had called for his resignation, to take solid decisions and to initiate an inquiry into this tragedy in order to determine the responsibilities.
The Minister of Health also indicated that the health sector is currently paying the bill for deadly choices made over the years and which have created a structural crisis that worsens daily.
Conflict of interest, poor governance, lack of accountability and corruption have further contributed to the deterioration of the health sector, according to Faouzi Mehdi.
