Minister for Foreign Affairs Noureddine Erray received a phone call from British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa James Cleverly.
The talk centred on collaboration between the two countries and approaches to expand it stated a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It examined the measures taken in the two countries to deal with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts made to revive the economic and tourist dynamics, taking into the record the development of the health situation in both countries.
Erray and Cleverly additionally reviewed the stances of the two countries and their visions on the principal international and regional issues of mutual interest, particularly the developments in Palestine.
Erray stressed “the need to boost the efforts of the international community to compel Israel to put an end to its unilateral plans that imperil the resolutions presented by both states and undermine the entire peace process.”
On the Libyan issue, both officials emphasised the necessity to “continue supporting efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement, in accordance with international legal resolutions and as part of a Libyan-led political solution that preserves the country’s unity, security and stability.”
