The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, reaffirmed Tunisia’s position towards the situation in Yemen, calling for a rapid political settlement in this country by implementing the recommendations of the national dialogue, the Gulf initiative and United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Tunisia’s position towards the Yemeni crisis was expressed when it joined the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member.
In a phone call with his Yemeni counterpart, Mohamed Abdallah Al-Hadhrami, on the sidelines of the debates of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Jerandi expressed Tunisia’s concern for the development of the situation in Yemen.
Jarandi reiterated Tunisia’s support for the efforts of the UN Secretary General’s envoy to Yemen to achieve a ceasefire, continue the political operation and end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The two parties also spoke of the bilateral relations that unite the two countries.
