The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad communicated its “great surprise” at “the recurrence of offensive statements against sister Algeria”, asserting its categorical refusal of “desperate tries to weaken the ties of brotherhood and strategic relationships between Tunisia and Algeria”.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Foreign Affairs Department stated that “such reckless behaviour does not in any way bind the Tunisian state”. “These statements can in no way harm the privileged Tunisian-Algerian relations which have proceeded to develop, thanks to the sincere will of the leaders of both countries to strengthen coordination and bilateral consultations in the interest of both brotherly peoples,” the statement reads.
