Tunisia – Gafsa hospital staff protest following death of ambulance driver

The paramedical and administrative crew of the Houcine Bouziane Regional Hospital in Gafsa organized a sit-in this morning, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the invitation of the main nurses’ union and with the participation of the general secretary of the regional labour union of Gafsa, Mohamed Seghaier Miraoui, during which the protestors demanded the improvement and provision of appropriate working conditions within the hospital institution and its strengthening with different specialities.

This sit-in comes after the death of an ambulance driver yesterday Friday in the hospital hall, which the protesters view to be a consequence of the decline of services and the lack of equipment and specialized medical personnel.
