Tunisia-Guide to proper internet usage will start this week

The National Centre for Technology in Education (CNTE) will commence this week the guide to the internet proper use, in cooperation with the National Agency for Computer Security and the Personal Data Protection Authority, announced CNTE Director-General Wala Torki.
Taking at the event arranged to mark the celebration of the World Safer Internet Day on February 11, Wala Torki declared that the guide will be distributed to all educational institutions and will be available online in order to raise awareness of the risks of the Internet and improve its use while ensuring the protection of personal data.
According to the TAP agency, She specified that the guide covers the various users at hazard as well as advice to students, teachers and parents on how to avoid these risks when using the internet.
Torki added that periodical awareness seminars are also programmed in Tunis and in the country’s various sectors to broadcast all information on the proper use of the internet, in addition to awareness spots.
For his part, Education Minister Hatem Ben Salem emphasised the importance of explaining to students the dangers of misuse of the Internet, calling for encouraging the safe use of new technologies.
Ben Salem estimated that the future lies in the digitisation of education, knowing that the ministry has already started working on this approach. The teaching of computer science will be expanded and its coefficient and hours of instruction will also be changed, with the aim of empowering students and creating new job opportunities for them in the future, he affirmed.
