The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) called on reporters and owners of radio and television channels to preserve the independence of their media. HAICA further called on the media not to tolerate any intrusion in their editorial policy or in the choice of guests for their programs.
In the same context, it emphasised its commitment not to exercise prior control over the content of programs and not to permit any party to intervene in the editorial line of radio and television channels.
In this context, it explained that it fulfils its monitoring role after the broadcast of audiovisual programs. HAICA evoked that its principal role is to guarantee freedom of expression and of the press as well as the diversification of opinions.
