Tunisia-HAICA warns Attessia TV

The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA), transmitted a warning to the private television channel Attessia TV, for mixing in the usage of the language employed in the media content broadcast on the channel, reads an issued statement.

HAICA called for complying with the terms of reference and the license agreement concerning the correct use of the language (or languages) and to evade using a “hybrid” language.

The press release advises presenting the programs in a single, clear and precise language, in classical Arabic or in respectable Tunisian dialect, emphasising the need for presenters to translate foreign terms used by the guests.
